Increased Micropurchase and Simplified Acquisition Thresholds Allow Agencies to Purchase DevOps Services with a Click
Providing much needed flexibility for many federal grant and cooperative agreement recipients, the Office of Management and Budget (“OMB”) has issued an exception to the Uniform Guidance Procurement Standards, increasing the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (“SAT”) from $150,000 to $250,000, and Micro-Purchase Threshold (“MPT”) from $3,500 to $10,000.
Effective Fiscal Year 2018, OMB increased the Micro-Purchase Threshold for Civilian agencies including GSA, purchases increased from $3,000 to $10,000.
OMB’s Memo (M-18-18) is available here. The Micro-Purchase Threshold is the maximum price a Government customer may spend without approval from higher authority.
